Venus Optics unveils Laowa 9mm 2.8 Zero-D

Designed for APS-C mirrorless camera, the new lens boasts a 113° angle of view

A new lens from Venus Optics, codename Laowa 9mm F2,8 Zero-D is on the way. According to the chinese manufacturer, it’s the world’s widest f2.8 lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras.

Laowa 9mm F2,8 Zero-D features an optical design that  combines 15 lens elements in 10 groups, including 2 aspherical elements and 3 extra-low dispersion elements, and provides an ultra 113° angle of view.

The new lens promises ultra fast AF, Close-to-zero distorsion and corner-to-corner sharpness. Available in pre-order for Fuji X, Sony E and Canon EF-M mount. List price: 499$. The first 100 orders will get a set of Laowa 49mm filters for FREE (CPL + UV + ND1000). Shipping is expected to start from early April.
