In this brand new series, composer Ryan Thomas will take you through every step of the music production process in granular detail

In this session, we’ll be covering some of the general approaches to writing a soundtrack, including thematic scoring, using nontraditional themes that rely more on color and sound design rather than melodies, and of course, textual scoring that doesn’t make use of any recurring theme at all. This video is also going to serve as an introduction to orchestration and hybrid composing, but we’ll also have videos dedicated entirely to those subjects as well in the future.
