Audio Technica launched AT2040

Designed for podcasting, the new microphone boasts a hypercardioid polar pattern and internal pop filter

Audio Technica has launched on the market the new AT2040, a USB microphone especially designed for podcasting and PC direct recording . AT2040 is a dynamic microphone with large diaphragm for smooth, natural sound and low noise, equipped with a multistage foam mesh windscreen that provides superior internal pop filtering.

The new trasducer form the american company features an integrated shock mount that attenuates noise, shock and vibration transmitted through mic stands, booms and mounts, and hypercardioid polar pattern to reduce pickup of sounds from the sides and rear and improve vocal isolation. The package includes pivoting stand mount, 5/8″-27 to 3/8″-16 threaded adapter, and a soft protective pouch. Price: about €100.
